Matt. 9:20-22, Amplified: “And behold, a woman who had suffered from a flow of blood for twelve years came up behind Him and touched the fringe of His garment; For she kept saying to herself, If I only touch His garment, I shall be restored to health. Jesus turned around and seeing her, He said, ‘Take courage daughter! Your faith has made you well.’ And at once the woman was restored to health.” The Lord gave me a teaching on this which also relates to Malachi 4:2: “But unto you who revere and worshipfully fear My name shall the Sun of Righteousness will arise with healing in His wings.” Amplified Bible.

The corner and the fringe of the prayer shawl is called a kanaph in Hebrew. The corner if the prayer shawl is called a wing. The belief back then was: if you touched the garment of a holy man (Jesus was considered a holy man, a Rabbi) you would be healed. The sun in Malachi may be Jesus, Son. Then the passage uses” His.” This is a healing scripture in the Old Testament. In the Old King James Bible in Matthew, it says she touched the “corner of his garment. Matthew uses the word fringe, implicating the fringe of the corner of the prayer shawl. As a Rabbi, Jesus would have been wearing a prayer shawl. So this is why I painted the picture the way I did. Also the stones in the background are painted from a photo I took at a temple ruins in Israel.
