This image is from a photo taken when my first granddaughter was born. The painting was changed from the photo to create an ethereal painting of a brand new life. She was a month early and her hand was not even big enough for her had to go around her dad’s finger. A precious life begun.
Poem on the back of the note card:
“For You did form my inward parts:
You did knit me together in my mother’s womb.
I will confess and praise You for you are fearfull
And wonderful and for the awful wonder of your birth!
Wonderful are your works and my soul knows it full well.
My frame was not hidden from You
When I was being formed in secret and intricately and
Curiously wrought in the depths of the earth.
Your eyes saw my unformed substance,
And in your book all the days of your lire were written
Before ever they took shape, when yet there was none of them.
How precious and weighty are your thoughts oh God!
How vast is the sum of them!
If I could count them, they would be more in number than the sand.”
